Abstinence

Many teens know the pressure of having sex is unstoppable.
The definition of Abstinence:
- Sexual abstinence is the practice of refraining from some or all aspects of sexual activity. Common reasons for practicing sexual abstinence include:
- religious or philosophical reasons
- material reasons (to prevent conception - undesired pregnancy - or sexually transmitted disease transmission);
- psycho-sociological reasons (e.g., clinical depression, social anxiety disorder, increasing testosterone in males, or negative past experiences); or,
- legal injunctions requiring conformity.
- circumstantial reasons such as incarceration or geographical isolation.
- to focus on other matters - sublimation
- inability to find a suitable sexual partner - involuntary celibacy
- poor health - medical celibacy
I strongly think abstinence is important because the greatest gift you can give your spouse is your virginity.
Here are some reasons to stay abstinent:
If you have sex before you are married you are more apped to get an STD or STI. And nobody wants that.
You are at more of a risk for teen pregnancy. And that is is probally the hardest thing for a teenage girl. Cause most guys don't like to stick around, and that is fucked up.
Practicing abstinence:
Staying Focused:
You can keep absence by staying focused. Remember your goals in life and what you want to with it. When you are being pressured into sex say "NO!" If you have a baby its pretty hard to stick with your life goals.
Be Proud:
Be in love with your purity. Some see purity as being beautiful.
Respect:
If your partner does not understand what your goals in life are, and why you choose to be abstinent then you two don't belong together. It may be better to find someone with the same goals as you.
Finishing Up:
Well I hope whoever reads this article takes it into consideration.

No, but if you love each other you will get your self's checked.

Re: Abstinence
Why do we force people to do something. I believe people should do what they want with their sexual and romantic life! We don't stop animals from mating. Why should we. Mothers anf Fathers used to do eachother with the door open beside their child! Now it's indecent? They want sex at Age 14 let them! They want sex after marriage let them! IT'S THEIR BODY THAT MEANS IT'S THEIR FREEDOM! I dispise people that do that. They want to masturate free-be-it. They want to lose their virginity free-be-it. I nor You should or be allowed to ban that! Sexual laws should be banned!

People shouldn't be having sex as children because they are still children. Besides, this article isn't forcing anyone to do anything.
Sexual laws should be banned? Are you trying to say two 10 year olds should have sex?
Or that an adult could have sex with a child?
Actually, we do stop animals from mating. It's called neutering.
Oh, yeah, and look how wonderful they turned out be! Back in the day, women were not treated well at all. They were used and abused very much.
Often there was no difference in being a wife or being a prostitute - except for the number of guys you were with!
At 14? Yes because having sex as a pubescent child totally makes sense.
On the same note, you have no right to tell people what they can and cannot do either. These laws are to protect people you know and to give justice to those who have been wronged.
Also, it his freedom to state what he wants. If he wants abstinence, or anyone for that matter, who are you to say they should not be able to talk about it?
Or who are you to say that parents cannot teach their kids what they want? They are the parents, not you.
And, consenting ADULTS should be able to do what they like. But children... well, that's different.
Alex isn't forcing anything on anyone. He is only mentioning it in hopes to reach someone else. This is not a bad thing as people will chose to listen or not.

Technically yes, but only if you've only ever been with that one person.
If both people wait until marriage then the chances go down dramatically.
Also, only if you stay with that person and remain faithful.

totally agree Marietta, Alex isn't forcing anyone to not have sex before marriage. Ive only chosen this because i want to. I've been thinking about it for a while now but this i has just given it the extra push, that's all.
