Icon3 Health Risks Associated With Unhealthy Eating

More often than not, unhealthy eating is only associated with weight gain and a larger body fat percentage. But unhealthy eating expands far beyond simply the numbers on the scale and the size of your stomach or thighs. What many people don’t know or refuse to believe is that unhealthy eating is associated with multiple high-risk health issues.

To begin with, the majority of unhealthy foods contain a fat called saturated fat. This fat is a known cause of heart disease and colorectal cancer. In regions of the world where the diet consists of foods high in saturated foods, the percent of individuals with heart disease is higher than those who live in a region where foods aren’t rich in saturated fat.

Red meat and butter in particular should be strictly limited or completely avoided because of their high concentration of saturated fat. A few other products high in saturated fat are milk and cheese, and they should only be limited, not completely avoided.

While all fats can lead to weight gain because of their high energy content, there are fats that are not harmful to your health and have been found to prevent health issues such as heart disease and colorectal cancer. An example of such a fat is polyunsaturated fat. Safflower oil, sunflower oil, soybean oil and corn oil are high in polyunsaturated fat. Some foods that are also rich in polyunsaturated fat are fish (tuna, mackerel, salmon).

I'm a very unhealthy eater. I barely eat, and when I do I only eat pot noodles, pizza or chocolate.
