Hair Styling
Do you find yourself hoping that you could be a little more different, stand out from the crowd? Have people saying you look nice? That kind of thing. Well in this article I hope to cover how you can do that. I do not claim to be an expert on it, but I have some very good ideas on how you can get a look that you may like.
A first warning for males or females with extremely short hair, spiking your short hair up in the middle and/or the back is a look used a lot now, it will not get you noticed and in my opinion it doesn't look very good. If you have short hair, I suggest that you either, gel it down and give your self a little fringe or grow your hair to your eyebrows, I suggest growing it as you can do a whole lot more with longer hair, you are not restricted to gel. Of course you could just leave your hair how it is an it will look fine if you brush it, if possible.
If you have your hair grown to your eyebrows and just at your ears, you could straighten your hair diagonally to one side, which is quite a popular look for kids who aren't any stereotype. A well know male who does this is Zac Efron. Alternatively you could leave it, but if your hair curls then you may want to clip in back or straighten it. If you want to use gel you could gel just the back up, although quite a few people do it know, you could get away with doing it still.
If you have a fringe that is a decent lenght you could straighten it down to one side or if you are going for an emo look, you could do it over one eye. Just remember when doing this, it may be extremely hard to see somethings and when talking to people it doesn't make them feel like you care as you can't make eye contact, it almost acts as a barrier. With a fringe like I just described you could once again spike the back of your hair up and you may end up looking like Sasuke from Naruto, which is pretty cool. A style I think looks nice with a long fringe is to clip it to one side, if worn with a hair accessory such as headband, it looks really good.
With clips, headbands and such, I suggest matching or contrasting colours, such as black and white. It's probably not best to go with green and orange, unless you can somehow pull that off well. Most colours suit black and dark brown hair, so if you want you could dye your hair those colours if you can, but make sure that it suits how you are as a person and what kind of look you are going for. For light coloured hair, such as blonde and light brown, reds go nicely along with white, in my opinion.
Of course it's all your decision, as I said before I am no expert. I have my hair semi long, my fringe usually reached my top lip and my sides reach the bottom of my jaw. I straighten my hair and don't wear any accessories, I don't really fit to any stereotype, I just know I am not a chav! For me my hair is my main feature, so I keep good care of it, even though straighten will kill it eventually. I really hope this has helped, if you have any further questions, feel free to PM me.
