Within this article you will find out many ways of tuning Windows 7 to exactly how you like. When I installed Windows 7 I found many things to be a nuisance so I am sharing all steps I needed to take to get it how I like things.
Note: Use this guide at your own risk!
First things first, turning off user account control (UAC).
Turn off User Account Control (UAC).
To turn off user account control click Start>Click your Windows picture for instance mine is currently an orange flower. At the bottom click Change User Account Control settings and drag the slider to the bottom so it is on Never notify.
When you reboot it should no longer be turned on and you wont get warnings when installing programs etc and the need to verify that you want them on your PC.
Turning off Thumbnail Previews in Windows 7
This is something I hated right away, I liked Aero but not the thumb previews. At the moment theres only one good way to prevent them showing when you hover icons in the taskbar. I have included a registry entry which you may install at your own risk to set the hover time to a high amount so you would need to hover for a good few minutes before getting thumbs popping up. Simply download the file and double click it and then click yes to add it to the registry.

Turning off the Action Center in Windows 7
You will notice that the Action Center is always shown in your system tray, if you want rid of it read on...
Firstly go to Start>Control Panel>All Control Panel Items and click Notification Area Icons. At the bottom of that page click Turn System Icons on or off. On the next page set Action Center to off and click ok. Now you wont have the Action Center icon there.
Ungrouping System Tray Icons in Windows 7
To ungroup the icons and have them always display follow this:
Right click Start> then click Properties. Click Taskbar and then customise. At the very bottom you will find Always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar. Check it and click okay.
Removing the login screen in Windows 7
If youre the only user of your computer you may wish to remove the login screen so that you neednt sign in each time you start it up. To remove the login screen for your PC go to this link here
Autologon and run the small program. It will ask for your password which you enter and click okay. Once done you will notice you neednt login each time and thats another nuisance out of the way.
Windows Live Messenger to Tray in Windows 7
Many of you will notice you can no longer minimise the Windows Live Messenger program to the system tray and instead you have a large icon in your taskbar. Heres how you get it to minimise:
Go to Start>Computer>C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger and right click the msnmsgr.exe file and click Properties. Now click the Compatibility tab and choose Windows Vista from from the Run this program in compatibility mode for list. Make sure MSN is closed before doing this and restart MSN too.
This is all of my annoyances so far, I am sure there may be others to come but hopefully not fingers crossed.
