Words for thought, from an adolescent speaking about growing up as a teen in general.

" as a teen growing up in a vast new world. We don't always understand all of our adolescent problems. We some times do not know who we are or what we wanta be. We will often do things that will cause you grief. Often say things that will cause you pain. We will hurt friends and family, the ones who realy love us. Why we will do these things we do not know. We will at times experiment with drugs, have underaged, unsafe and premarital sex. Some of us will go to jail and potentialy end up with an orphaned love child that may never know, that i love him. I just wasn't ready. Through these times while i shall grow. I will need some one there for me, to support me even when i have done wrong.
I will need some one there to teach me the ways of life, for i do not yet know.
I will need some one who will take my hand, guide me through this harsh and troublesome life.
I need you to hold me when i am sad, and feeling scared and all alone.
I will need you to show me how to not be afraid and give me couage to face these fears. Offer your love through endless nights
no matter how crazy my life will some time get, or how many times i tell you 'i hate you' i will still need you there for me should ever i fall. I need a companion, and a friend at times more than just a parent.'


it can be hard to understand as a parent some times the true nature of our kids. It has been proven time after time children, adolescents and teens. Although they need their parnts to raise them, some times punnish them above all to provide for them. How ever, in most cases kids will seek advise, love, companioship, guidance, and respect from just about any one besides their parents or any one else that they have known for their whole lives. Kids and teens alike some times feel it is more meanigful when this kind of love comes from some one that is not obligated in any shape or form. More importantly, sad to say that when a child needs guidance or therepy it is some times useless when the child knows that the person giveing them advise or therepy, is just doing their job and thats what they get payed to do. It is useless when a child knows that a person is just acting like they care just for a pay check.
