Health and fitness
Health isn’t only about not being sick and fitness isn’t only about not being overweight. There are many components to health and fitness. To be healthy you need to have complete physical, mental and social well-being. A ‘healthy’ person will generally have right emotional maturity, social skills and intelligence for their age. However being healthy also means eating well. This means incorporating the 5 main food groups Fruit and vegetables, Starchy foods such (rice, pasta, bread and potatoes) Meat and other animal products, Dairy and Foods containing fat and sugar into three meals a day. You should eat a wide variety of foods in these groups and drink lots of water.
It is easier to eat healthily during the day if you have a healthy breakfast. When you miss breakfast you are left craving food for the rest of the day and you will most likely resort to getting a quick and unhealthy snack, in particularly at night which is the worst time to be eating, as the body has trouble having a restful sleep when it is busy digesting food.
Mental health is connected to your physical health, for example the body does not “need” fatty foods or sweets, it is purely psychological and this need can be filled with an activity you find enjoyable. You will also find yourself in a better mood if you have eaten and slept well.
Staying healthy means getting a good 10 hours sleep, eating 3 varying meals a day and being happy and sociable. You should also do 30- 60 minutes of exercise a day to burn off energy that you have eaten.
Being fit is of course linked to health, physically, mentally and socially. There are three main benefits to being fit, linked to physical, mental and social health. Firstly when you are exercising you are using up energy which is stored by fat this stops you from gaining excess weight. Secondly by being fit and doing exercise you release a hormone called endomorphines which make you feel happier so exercising in the long run will increase your mental health and Thirdly participating in sport opens you up to new opportunities to meet new people especially if you are participating in a team sport.
i'll probably make a few enemies... i'm not exactly a crowed pleaser. don't be afraid to say what you think, because lifes more interesting when people disagree
