Why we drink alcohol
Alcohol is not only addictive but it is also very social, so to speak. When you drink alcohol you become more bubbly and talkative, for many people alcohol is the answer to an awkward situation. People also like to have things in there hands but they can’t just fidget during a conversation can they. Holding a glass or bottle of alcohol is the automatic solution to this and people don’t even realize that’s why they’re holding a drink.
Some of the things that influence you to have alcohol are:
Beer advertisements, Friends drinking alcohol (peer pressure or wanting to be ‘cool’), Alcoholic family members or the taste or feeling you get from having alcohol. But are any of these worth the risks? Alcohol is fine in moderation and red wine has been proven to be healthy occasionally. However if it’s a choice between having too much and none, you should choose none and I’ll explain why.
Why alcohol can be a major mistake, short and long term affects
There are many things you may experience while intoxicated by alcohol or after you have drunken alcohol for an extended period of time. Many of which you wouldn’t like normally but while drunk your views on things change and your inhibitions are lowered as well as your standards. You may make some life changing decisions or put yourself in harms way while under the influence. I know from personal experience with friends that drunk people aren’t very aware of cars… a group of friends all drunk walked out into the middle of the road completely unaware that a car was coming I told them to get off the road but it took until the car was meters away for them to notice that it was coming.
Having drunken enough alcohol immediately you will have lack of coordination, aggressive behaviour, dizziness and chattiness, slurred speech, disturbed sleep, nausea, vomiting. After drinking alcohol for long enough you may get Cancer, Diarrhoea, Ulcers, High blood pressure and Depression. By drinking excessively you are slowly killing your brain cells, lowering your immune system and wrecking your liver which is your bodies filter.
Heres a true story why you don’t want to be sucked into substance abuse:
The first time she hit me was a shock. My parents had always given me a smack if I was being naughty as a child, but this was different and it soon became a regular occurrence. She started throwing things at me, too. There was this look of pure hatred on her face, like it wasn’t my mum inside. It scared me so much I still can’t get the image out of my head.
Over the following months and years the violence escalated. She burnt me with cigarettes, threw me down a flight of stairs and slammed my head in the kitchen door a few times.
If you were to see her you wouldn’t believe me - I’m quite a big girl, yet my Mum is this tiny little thing, weighing about 46 kilos but with an unthinkable strength and a frail-looking body ravaged by alcohol, cigarettes and general neglect on her part.
It’s hard to support her and try to help her when she doesn’t want my help and punishes me for the support i give but this is my life now.
Please remember that when drink alcohol everyone is effected, not just yourself.
Making the right decision
Before you try something you don’t know much about, think about why you are trying it. Are you trying it for a good reason or bad one and do YOU actually want to try alcohol. Think about whether you would be allowed to try alcohol. If you wouldn’t be allowed, there is a good reason. Lastly think about what will happen after. Remember people don’t just make up rules and laws about alcohol and other drugs to annoy you there is always a good reason, if you don’t know what the reason is it just means you need to learn more about whatever it is. Always make an informed decision.
Thanks for reading, i don't like people to get into bad habits, because sometimes they lead to downward spirals that ruin peoples lives.
i'll probably make a few enemies... i'm not exactly a crowed pleaser. don't be afraid to say what you think, because lifes more interesting when people disagree

Well, that's maybe a little too mich no? I don't think ''trying'' alcohol will change you life, there is nothing wrong about driking alchool once in a while. Wine is even good if it's taking occasionally, the thing is to not '' fall in it '' and get addict.
But just trying? I don't see what's wrong with it
Very thourough. Quite on. But not 100% obv and i think you would admit that.
My belief is: alcohol isnt bad. People that become addicted to things that negatively affect their lives is bad. Alcohol can become addictive to some ppl. If you become addicted to alcohol u should get help.
i think its bad, cause teenagers get so used to the habit and how it releases all this pressure and stress off of there hands. they just keep on trying it more and more which when there older leads them to use it all the time to get through situations.
like kids start drinking at like 15-16 and then everytime after that, in a social situation such as a party they will drink because EVERYONE does it and its 'normal' in todays society.
its fucking shit!
i wish it was never invented cuz as soon as you go to a party if your not the one drinking your the 'odd one out'
like its even completely different with other drugs like if theres a bunch of mates smoking up
you can either choose to or not but if you dont, it doesnt really change anything but with alcohol its such a different story.
Yeah your right there is nothing wrong with it, it's more aimed at underage kids, thats why i think it's better if you don't try it. i'm not against drinking in moderation, and i don't mind when my friends who are underage drink, i wrote this a while ago, and i my mum started young as well and she's been addicted ever since, so i just think sometimes it's better to not try it, just in case.

I think that u should know how to drink alcohol... Like before drinking, just eat something, cuz alcohol is less affective than.
But,also, its not very recommended to drink it very often for teens..
thats actually not true, weather you eat bread before drinking doesn't change the the percentage of alcohol in your blood or how fast it is filtered through your system. its a common misconception that bread and other carby foods absorb the alcohol, it doesn't really.
