Before you Come Out ask yourself some questions and follow these tips.

Is it the right thing to Do?

It can be scary at any for anyone at any age. First think of some questions:

• Will coming out affect how things are at home?
• Will it be Safe to come out to my parents?
• Am I ready for the Change?

Reasons to Come Out

• You will feel better about yourself.
• You will feel supported about your situation
• It will help you grow as a person
• It will take away any pressures you had by not telling them.

Reasons not to Come Out

• Someone is pressuring you to come out.
• You feel like you are lying to people.
• You think it will make you feel legitimately GLBT.
• You feel like it make you seem older
• You are angry at your parents and you want to get back at them.

Think about it and Think about how you are going to tell them and what you are going to say and prepare yourself for questions. You can also practice what you are going to say in a Mirror or with a stuffed animal. It might help in the long run.

I have a few suggestions. I have "came out" so to speak to some people, but it is different when they don't understand what you are. I am Pansexual, and that is where you can be emotionally attracted and sexually attracted to the right person. I am sexually attracted to both genders, and I don't seek only one or the other, I seek both, until I am in a committed relationship. If you are coming out to a person that doesn't understand what you are, how do you explain it, after you dropped your barrier and you are extremely nervous? How can you give them your knowledge of the term, when your heart is thumping to hard for you to remember what to say?

Vincent, 'Coming out' is a term used by homosexuals in sharing the nature of their sexuality with other people..telling them they're gay.

As a fellow Pansexual, Johnny, I faced similar confusion to people. It probably doesn't help that a lot of people define pansexuality differently. I found it easier to say it like this: That I was like a bisexual, only I didn't limit my scope to merely male or female and that I was okay with anything outside the gender norm and everything that fell in-between the two.

Of course, then you're explaining what you mean by neither male or female. *facepalm*
