Default April: Advice of the Month

Hi guys. This will be my last Advice of the Month thread, so I will make it a collection of the things I've learned from Teen Forumz over my time period. It'll essentially be short and sweet.

1) First of all, always try to keep an open mind about you. People are different, so people will see things differently. Why would you want everyone to agree with you? Accept challenged beliefs and learn from them. You are a fool if you think you're always "right." Don't be ignorant; take the experiences of others. One of the best ways to learn is to communicate with others of opposing beliefs. Always try to see both sides to every belief you have. For the love of God....treat each other how you want to be treated. When I first got here, I would get so livid when people disagreed with me. I would think they're idiots and don't know what they're talking about. Please be sympathetic with each other. Treat others how you want to be treated, so respectfully disagree, okay?

2) Control your emotions. Instead of cursing out a member, focus on controlling that anger. Do your best to not let your emotions get in the way of your logic and your heart. I know it can be hard to control emotions, but it is crucial.

3) Get sleep! I used to stay up so many hours on here of a night and I would constantly pay the price during the next day. It would affect my mood and it made my life so much worse than it needed to be. Get as much sleep as you can of a night. If you're depressed, sleep is your best friend. Get plenty of sleep.

4) Live simple. Often times we get focused on the particulars of the day. "I need to do this paper by the morning. I need to be there by 4:00. I need to workout or I'll look bad." These are very specific. When you focus on specifics, it puts stress on your day. Instead, focus on the general day. "I've got to do class work, but once I'm done, I can do other things. I'll do my best, and that's all I can do." No need stressing over things as long as you do the best you can.

5) Last one, and most important. If someone did you wrong in the past, forgive them. Why? Well, what is revenge actually going to do for you? I don't care if you've been raped, abused, or anything else. You must be the bigger person and forgive people. You holding a grudge will do nothing to that person. The only person it hurts is you. There have been so many times where I see people wanting to spite one another for revenge, but that will only breed more revenge and hate. There is no way to have peace when you want revenge. You need to accept what happened, and simply forgive them. Love the sinner, hate the sin. Reflect on that, okay? Trust me, I know how revenge works. I understand the desire for it, but once you're capable of getting over it, loving the sinner, and moving forward, your life will be much better....I PROMISE.

Well guys, that's all I have left. I hope something helped here. These are things I'm taking with me. I would also like someone to continue this advice of the month thing. Maybe you can help someone too. Bye guys.

Default Re: April: Advice of the Month

Again, good advice. Idk if I will continue it To be honest. If so, it will sadly be short and I don't know what subjects I will use (Maybe a poll method can resolve it)
