Sell yourself
When applying for a job, sell yourself and be confident. Dont sit there not mentioning how great your skills are, tell the person interviewing you all of your relevant skills to the position.
I have seen so many people including myself not realising their fullest potential and when in an interview will forget to mention when asked the skills which they possess that is relevant to the job, especially teenagers.
I am not sure if this is a country related thing but in the UK we dont know how to sell ourselves and are very modest, so modest in fact that we lose out on getting the jobs we want. In the USA they boast in interviews nearly telling the employer this and that and I am the one you want for the job. This assertiveness can get you somewhere as long as it isnt over confident and too boasty.
Before your interview write down some skills you feel are applicable to the job and memorise them for the day. Even if you have basic computer knowledge and you are working with printing let them know that you know your way around a modern operating system. There are millions of people out there who dont even know how to turn a computer on nevermind find the control panel, so sell these skills as much as you can.
If you have no formal qualifications, this is what you need in order to succeed. Everyone has skills that are not written down on paper which employers would like to see the employees have. Without qualifications you may sit and wonder how can I sell this blank Curriculum Vitae but you can if you try!
Tell the employer everything you can about your skills and shout all about yourself, not literally as you may lose the job just for that, but always remember that you possess skills they need and to sell them in the best ways possible.
