Keeping clean in your teenage years!
Being hygienic is very important and you should always pay special attention to keeping yourself clean as a teen. You should bath or shower regularly as well as wash your hands before meals. You may not care about picking up food with dirty hands or preparing your food without washing your hands but you should make sure you get clean before doing any of this.
Have you ever seen the amount of bacteria on an unwashed hand that doesnt appear to be dirty but under a microscope it is? You can become very sick if you do not keep your hands clean as our hands touch other people, ourselves, our mouths and objects that others use too.
The best way to wash your hands is using warm water and soap. By creating a lather and rubbing your hands together for about 15 seconds making sure to wash all of your hands and not just the palms. Once rinsed off you should dry them on a clean towel. Did you know that touching the tap to turn it off afterwards isnt recommended? You should turn it off using a paper towel or wash the tap before beginning to clean your hands.
You should wash your hands before every meal and after every meal, after going to the toilet, after sneezing and blowing your nose, when preparing food and as you touch different meats, after taking out any rubbish bags as well as after touching yourself in any unclean places and when you feel it is necessary.
Keeping your hands nice and clean will ensure that you dont end up passing around bacteria from one person to another as well as protecting yourself from sickness.
A lot of teens dont understand the importance of washing their hands on a regular basis but it should always be done. Have you ever stroked your dog and then eaten without washing your hands? If you have you should begin washing your hands right after touching or stroking any animal as they carry all kinds of germs which can potentially make you and others ill.
I hope this article has helped you.
Thank you for reading.
