I would like to express my feelings on abortion within an article and my thoughts about abortions.

Getting Pregnant

I personally believe that if you are having sex that it is your own responsibility to protect yourself from becoming pregnant and if you do become pregnant then it is your responsibility to look after the baby.

My thoughts on Abortion

I dont think it is right to get an abortion at all as you should take responsibility for your own actions. If you are having sex without protection you know the consequences of doing so, therefore getting an abortion is very wrong. I see getting an abortion as killing a child and more or less murder.

Exceptions

The only exceptions where I find it alright to get an abortion would be a case where someone has become pregnant under circumstances out of their own control for example rape.

In that circumstance you wouldnt have had the choice nor would your own responsibility come into it therefore I see an abortion in those circumstances acceptable.

I feel the same way about abortion. Just so you know, only 1% of abortions are because of rape and only 6% are because of danger to the child or mother.

Actually I think it's just 1% all combined. Rape and danger I mean.
That many women don't have that many life-threatening problems is what I'm getting at.

Edit: Sorry, that was rude of me... I loved the article Michael. Don't really agree with the rape part, because I believe life is life no matter how it came to be.

I'm curious as to how they know this exactly. A lot of women do not admit to being raped, so I can fully imagine them doing the same thing when they go to have an abortion. As a result I'd think the amount was higher...

But maybe you know something I do not.

Rape tests. They are many signs to it. First off the bruising that is left after intercourse. Depending on the location of the bruising you can determine if it was rape or not. It's all about struggling or not. Also, possible tearing. If a woman is not prepared - intercourse could tear her.

Also, mental trauma can happen - some women may actually throw up after seeing someone who raped them, as well as any signs of a struggle - like scratches, punches, on and on.

But also taking into consideration that women lie in order to get abortions... It might be less than 1%.

Some may not admit to it but perhaps they have not gotten pregnant or do not want to have an abortion despite getting raped. It can happen you know.

Didn't see this response, but your first two paragraphs seem to adress a different question - I mean of course there are ways of telling if someone is raped, but they don't force them onto women who want to get abortions - maybe its different in America.

Edit: It looks like the 1% statistic comes from a survey in wich women were asked, sorta supports my point, its not unusual that women deny beng raped. I wouldn't be surprised if the statistic was higher.

I personally don't believe the result of rape should be abortion, sure sure you're upset but there IS a morning after pill.

I don't think people fully understand abortion and I was like you very, ignorant and intolerant.

But when I was fifteen I got pregnant, I was on the pill, I panicked and alot happened just that morning and being against abortion I thought i'd help nature on a little, I exercised ALOT more than usual it resulted in a miscarriage, now it was only at the minute I realised what I'd done. I had aborted my baby. I had murdered my baby and for two and a half years I hated myself, I did what I could to be punished. I only this summer forgave myself for what happened and now at 18 I am expecting a baby, again unplanned.

But what people don't realise is abortion isn't just 'over and done with to be forgotten' the amount of people that get depression, who regret it, who hate themselves, - even the men who persuade the girls into doing it feel guilt. And sometimes guilt is a bad thing, it ruins your life.

i have my own opinion that abortions are worse then murder, THE MOMS NOT EVEN LETTING THE KID HAVE A CHANCE!

If a women is raped they should put the child up for adoption
