Teen Marijuana Use

Some teens smoke and use Marijuana as an escape and a lot use it because of peer pressure from those around them smoking it too. Always remember that you do not need to smoke it and that all it is doing is damaging your health.

• Smoking some potent forms of Marijuana can cause paranoia and anxiety.
• You can have memory problems due to smoking it.
• Your skills when problem solving may no longer be as good.
• You can misperceive things like touch and smells.
• You are more prone to making mistakes and ending up in an accident.

Is it addictive?

If smoked for a long enough time you can become addicted to smoking Marijuana. By this I mean you will always want it and feel like you need it. You will feel like you want to seek it and use it. The more you use it, the more your body can tolerate its effects meaning you will end up needing more and more of it to sustain your habit.

I am a smoker and want to quit!

The best thing you can do is speak with your doctor and talk about your Marijuana problems and they will help you seek counselling in your area who will aid you in your quitting. The only way to quit is to abstain from smoking it and there is no magical cure. You need will power to free yourself from taking this drug and dedication to stop smoking. Don’t listen to your friends, listen to your parents and teachers as they will know what is best for you. If you are quitting and your friends offer you to smoke after telling them you are quitting they are not true friends and are only trying to get you to mess up your own life like they have with theirs.

There is always help available, act now, sooner rather than later.
