Some teenagers, although not all will allow their parents to go to work every day of the week, come home and tidy up the house as well as clean their teens rooms and this is really unfair. They are working very hard to pay the bills, pay for the roof over your head as well as feed and make sure you are dressed.
Tidying up when getting back from work isn’t the first thing you want to do now is it? You don’t come home from school dieing to get the Hoover out and why should they? All you crave when you get back from working all day is to rest and relax and you should remember this the next time your parent comes in to clean your room. Why not offer a lending hand and say “Mum, I will do my own room, go and put your feet up”, honestly your parents will become a lot less stressed out if they are capable of having some time to their self.
Things you can do to help your parents around the home
Wash the dishes after a meal.
Clean your own room.
Do some Hoovering around the house.
Watch after your siblings to allow your parents to chill.
Ask your parents if any jobs need doing and offer to do them.
Make the tea for your family.
Make sure you’re up on time for school as this will stop them worrying about you when they’re getting sorted out before work.
Thank you for reading my short article about teenagers helping their parents around the house.
