I have the same problem.
My best friend will always run off with someone else, leaving me behind.
You know I'm a believer in mind over matter, if you want something to be different then you can make it happen.
Of course, it won't always happen - you prefer to be alone after all.
Perhaps your friends naturally assume this and that's why they pair off without you.
Maybe you could try voicing this to them?
But I see what you mean, I'm a loner but I often feel too lonely... However, I was willing to make that sacrifice for my own personal reasons.
But that doesn't mean it doesn't get to me sometimes.
