My First Novel

I have finally started to write my first novel! The planning for the entire story has taken almost three years now and I have now begun putting the story into words.
It is quite amazing seeing my work appear in letters before me on a screen. I think that it will reach to about 800, or maybe more, pages. It is a very well-thought out story with a lot of explanations and twists in the plot. it will be quite long.
I will not reveal much but it is basically about a boy surviving the impacts of a World War, and he is taken into a huge base owned by the Soviet Union, to work there for them despite hating them. There is more to the story than that but that is all I am willing to state based on it. I hope it gets put onto shelves in the future, though.

You may. It's actually a World War that has not even happened yet, haha, or hopefully will not happen. It's like in the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, where George Orwell simply predicted what the events of that time were going to be like. It was something I did for this story, although I do not know the time setting for this story, but nor do the people in it as their country was totally destroyed and turned into a wasteland.
The twists are really good though. I cannot share them, as much as I would like to (for security reasons), but I bet that a lot of people would find it an interesting read.
I'm not sure whether I will do this yet but I was also thinking about making a prequel to the story too, based on the life of the protagonists father. It'd make more sense if I told you what relationship his father had in this story.

Yes, it is basically the events of World War III. The war that I invented for this story will most likely never occur, but if there was another world war in the present time then obviously it would be a lot worse than the previous ones, especially with all these evil weapons that have been created. I imagined that a lot of the world would be completely ruined.

Posting parts of the story would put me in an awkward way regarding security issues.

Exactly. Posting it on the internet, I think, would be quite silly. There are all types of people on the internet that my ideas would be vulnerable to. I really want this story to be read by others other than myself, but I atleast want to write it, too.
