Every once in awhile. I am inspired to write something. Sometimes it's a story. Less often it's a poem. Most often it's an opinion piece. A paragraph. A page. Explaining why something I've seen makes me feel the way it does. I realize this may not make sense for a lot of people who might read this. I don't really care.


Evangelion... Have any of you seen it? Or more specifically the end? It's beautiful..

The final scene. Shinji choking the life out of asuka.

Let me explain. Through an incredible series of events. The entire human race is obliterated. melted down into the primordial ooz that we came from.

Shinji is given the choice. To exist as one body one mind. Painless forever. Or to allow humanity to exist once more. Inviting pain back into the world. But also allowing LIFE back into the world. He sees flashbacks of his life. Flashes of what his life COULD be. Flashes of what he wants his life to be. Dreams. His entire life is pain. Nothing but pain. His father hates him. His mother is dead. The woman he loves.. (this is debated) is catatonic. He has no friends. Life is hopeless.


And he motherfucking chooses to allow people to exist. In doing so. He kills one of his best friends (more or less god) And dooms the world to eternal pain. BUT THEY FUCKING EXIST.

THAT is the point. We exist. We live. We Breath. And YES we hurt. YES we fall. Sometimes we CAN'T get back up. But we fucking do it anyway. Because. We. Exist. And that's what you do when you exist. You keep right on existing. Because you can. And it's what we do.











The last scene. When Shinji wakes up lying next to asuka. He is likely insane from what he has experienced. So he chokes her. Until she raises her hand and brushes his cheek. Then he breaks down and weeps on her. The last words uttered in the Anime.





"How disgusting.."
