What do you want to use the camera for?
The only notable difference between the 8010 and 6020 TOUGHs is that the former is more water-, freeze-, and shockproof, with 1GB more of internal storage space.
If you want a camera to take just-pictures, I'd go for the 6020 simply because it has the features of the 8010 but not in full force, and so it's cheaper.
The spec. of the Spell Check 800UZ looks much more appealing to me, and I appreciate that it's a little closer to a DSLR model. I have no idea how much it costs, but I imagine it's a little more than the TOUGHs because of the lenses.
What camera have you got atm?

STOP. ARE YOU READING THE ABOVE POST?
If not, do it. I'm beginning to get the impression that 50% of TF is populated by literate parrots/sentient mirrors.
I havent got a camera now per se, I've been looking around for 2 years now..
Currently I use a Yashica Kyocera 5 MP Camera, it's extremely bad considering the ones out there now..
I have experience shooting with DSLR's as well as point and shoot camera's..
Right now, I've considered the Fujifilm Finepix HS10 to be much better than the Olympus Spell Check 800UZ.. but not sure, what do you think?
id go for the Olympus Spell Check 800UZ
one of my close mates has this one
and she loves it
it works and has loads of memory
im not really a camera expert
but she says that it is really reliable and can surive the wear and tear of being taken into college every day
hope is useful
x
Hmm, that was definitely helpful, thanks, but The olympus is in a way fully automatic, The Fujifilm HS10 can be operated completely manually, but I'm afraid the picture quality is poor, any chance some one you know has one of those?
Those are good brands, but their too expensive, besides, The Olympus Spell Check 800 is much cheaper, and I'd like to add that I cannot deal with a DSLR as of now..
I think it depends on what you're planning on using it for.
I have a Canon which I love, and is highly rated (cheap, too). Actually, all Canon's are, which is why I bought it. Go to a store and play with them and see which ones feel right to you, have the best combo of features and just fit with your needs.
Tech is so cheap and so abundant that you can make yourself crazy deciding, but the point is you cannot really go wrong with any major brand. The features might be a tad different, but the overall pic quality is really the same. If in doubt, pic up a consumer guide and see what they say.
