preferences that a computer need to run windows 7

Everything is just fit
like 2.00GHz processor
20 GB HDD
but there's one problem
Is 512 RAM going to take windows 7 or not ???

I think it will run fine but you will probably be best turning off features like animated windows, fade in pop ups, aero, possibly a few services too that you might not need, anything fancy at all will probably need to be or be best turned off.

Try tune up utilities software on it and it can tweak it for you.

You could try disabling extra effects, I do myself on a PC that can handle them on just for a bit of performance boost

What's your motherboard model? It may be worth upgrading your RAM.

EDIT:

Also, in England you can get a huge discount off various software from Microsoft if you're a student. I don't know if that applies elsewhere but it may be worth looking into if you want to save some money.

I asked my brother to look for a better RAM he said nothing i didn't find
he's a computer engineer ( network & programing )
i don't know when this computer was made when i ask him he said 2007
it's not that old but it's dead
by the way did i mention that it has 2 ( 256 RAM ) that make 512

I myself don't use it a lot cuz i hate it
i might buy a laptop or a new desktop
anyway thanks
