I know a lot of you aren't gamers or at 'least wouldn't be bothered with this, but there's a HUUUUGE deal by Steam at the moment. Literally hundreds of games going for 30%, 50%, 60% and even 80% less than their normal prices.
I just brought 3 games for £3.
So yeah, for those of you who play PC games, now's a good a time as any to get yourself a Steam account and buy some games.
On the homepage there's two buttons, one which says "Games for under £7" and another which says "Games for under £4". Check those if you're looking for VERY cheap games. I should probably point out that the vast majority of them aren't that good in all fairness.
Also, every day they're reducing the prices even more on a select group of games. As mentioned above, I brought 3 games for £3, but their "one day only" offer has ended now. Still reduced, just not to £3. The original AVP's going for £0.75 at the moment.
I was thinking there, how much will it cost for delivery then realised its digital delivery, those are some really good prices, Civilization IV being 9.74 aint that bad. Still im going to pass for now, I still lack a graphics card

Steam only digitally release games on their store. If you want them on disc you'll have to buy them elsewhere.
I tend to prefer them on disc myself over then having a download, I just like having the box, the disc and manuals etc it doesnt seem like youve paid for something when there isnt a physical product
However I just have to take the opportunity to save money on games when I can, and Steam regularly do these deals (usually one or two a week, not half their catalogue xD).
A problem with Steam is that some games REQUIRE you to have a Steam account and the client installed before you can play it, for example Just Cause 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction. Also, if you were to get banned, you can never get banned (extreme rare cases in the past about accounts being unbanned, but nothing recent), I just don't like taking the risk.
I always thought of Steam being something to do with Counter Strike and Half Life myself, kind of like Blizzard and WOW, I never knew they sold games too

Steam was created and currently run by Valve. Since CS and Half-Life are developed by Valve, I can see the connection you made between the two. In fact, I think they released Steam around the time Half Life 2 was released. I'm not sure whether or not they actually had a store back then, but I do remember my Dad needing to register an account to actually play HL2.
