Default Wubi/Linux.

Wubi is fantastic!

If you look into it, it dual boots your computer with Ubuntu. You don't get all of the privileges that you would with a real copy of Ubuntu (Free), but it's a great way to try it out. You can't access the internet, but I love the minimalism in Ubuntu, so I'm going to download it and dual boot my computer!

Have a look at Wubi if you're in two minds about it!

You can access the internet all Wubi really does it takes any pain out of installation, other than that you have a fully working Ubuntu installation, it is damn well great for those who want to try it on their machine and even use it regularly

Id just go with Ubuntu myself, I have never tried the others, im sure the differences arent that much though. Good thing about Ubuntu is that you get GIMP pre-installed along with a few others things including the amazing FF

I'm worried about some software compatibility though

Would iTunes, Chrome and WLM still work?

You could install Wine onto it and run them through that, im not 100% sure how you could go about doing that, I dont think theyre supported without the help of Wine. It also comes with its own IM, Pidgin which is pretty good too but not as good as WLM.
