Minecraft - A more indepth look?!
Minecraft is a sandbox type game with absolutely massive, randomly generated open world within which you can built, tunnel, climb your way up to pretty much anywhere on the map. The vast amount of gameplay you can get out of this game is absolutely mind-boggling! Seeing as it looks like a game from the early '90s, a lot of people will look at it and just turn it down. However - all these blocky graphics do amount to something spectacular! Making it so nearly anyone can play, takes up very little space and is still as fun as any game like Fallout 3? Now that's something.
The gameplay revolves around you surviving on a deserted island, taking whatever you can from the ground, mountains and trees around you to get what you need to survive. Make pick-axes, spades and hatchets from wood, stone, diamond, there's plenty of variation! Pretty much the majority of blocks in the game can be removed by the character through mining, and placed anywhere else in the entire map! Another great hook for this game is this precise ability. What I have yet to mention is there are zombies that come out at night and try and kill you. So, what would you need most? A place to stay safe - a refuge! From boxing yourself into some cave to making a full blown house, it's all up to you. There is absolutely no restriction to how you play the game. (well...)
I would personally reccomend looking up this game, it is hours and hours and hours of fun, especially for those who like the sand-boxy RPGs. YouTube for videos, look up the Wiki on it, do whatever! I'd just highly advise even having one glimpse at this game.
The new Minecraft is in development while you can play it, so there are constantly updates every day. Anything from stopping bugs to graphical tweaks, it's not an abandoned project. It's only £9 as well!
Sadly, however, my slow PC can only play it at 3 frames per second, so playing it at my house is a no-go. Ahh well, that's what friends are for!
So, on topic now, what do you think? Would you buy it? Is it your sort of game?
