yes it is.. well, kinda. apperently, the counter strike source has 2 versions. i downloaded the game but i can't play online. well i can but not on most servers because it says to me that a new version is required. Kirk bought the game and he can play online on the servers i can't. so, idk if these different versions are the difference between steam/non-steam games or if they are real different versions.



but yeah, i pay nothing to play online although i prefer to play on LAN

Is the game a paid game too? I might get it now if it is free to download.

i wrote all that telling you that it's free but i don't know if you can play online due the 2 versions... the servers can have only the most recent version

Counter strike source is 20usd thru steam.

You can download counter strike 1.6 for free from some websites. It's worth the 20 bucks if you like a fast paced team fps

1.6 is pretty much the same as source, but poorer graphics
