Default Network Attached Storage

Does anyone here own one? I am considering getting an enclosure like this one:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Netgear-SC101T...item5ada522e35

and then fitting two SATA drives into it.

Does anyone have any experience with these or know if theres anything better I could be getting instead?

Thanks.

I own one, they are very useful definitely if you want to share games etc.

I don't know what the conversion rates are but it looks like a good buy, netgear is always the way to go

I have just found some reviews earlier of this particular one and apparently it is awful, really slow data transfer rates coupled with being very unreliable with Windows being unable to see it, also Windows 7 isnt supported officially. Someone even went as far as describing it as being an expensive paperweight

I think that I really should look around before making any purchase of one of these.

The main usage for it would be mirrored RAID 1 backups of our sites so if our hard drives fail as well as our hosting backups we have two drives with everything we need on them which are backed up to daily, weekly and monthly.

Plus it would come in handy for personal picture storage etc

I have been looking at some others and a lot of people are saying with NAS you really get what you pay for and this one is the cheapest. I have had a look at some others but theyre far too expensive.

Looks pretty neat. I'd rather just buy a 1TB external though.

Thats one of my other options, I could always just get another two drives and stick them in the PC and have my backup software set to copy my backup partition rather than have something external.
