Basically, whenever I add a new contact on MSN, and they accept, they automatically get blocked when I try and open up a conversation window with them. I haven't changed any setting so I can't imagine why it's suddenly started doing this.

It's only for the initial starting conversation. Any I have afterwards is fine.

Anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?

How many times has this occurred? I know I have accidentally blocked people a few times, although I am not quite sure how, upon adding them.

I've noticed it twice, though it can be more.

when i added a mate from manchester, the same occured to me. but then i solved it quickly

I suppose the only thing you can try would be to uninstall windows live messenger, delete all of its cache files that it might leave and then reinstall. You could sign up with another msn account just to test it too when done

I heard it was just a problem with the WLM server. Happened to heaps of my mates around the same time

Mine has done it alot as well, but seems to correct itself quick enough in most cases, usually I just block and unblock them again, it seems to correct it then aswell.

but some of my mates
told me that they have it

As long as I'm not the only person experiencing this problem I'm happy. xD

My msn blocks email virus , but not like i open the window..at least if i know who's talking
