Default What do you think of the new Windows Live Messenger?

Has anyone here been unfortunate enough to download their latest version of Windows Live Messenger? I really dont like how it starts up myself, I am hoping its easily prevented in its options, havent had a look just yet.

For anyone whos interested in updating to it, Windows Live Messenger 2011 can be found here:

http://explore.live.com/windows-live-messenger?os=other

Note: I havent a clue where you can get the older version from as I am sure it downloads the latest files automatically to your PC so it may not be possible. So if you do upgrade, do so at your own risk.

It looks like its a good attempt at getting Bing some more recognition with almost everyone on the internet using WLM.

What are your thoughts on this version? Do you like it, if so why do you prefer it over the older versions, if not, why dont you like it?

Heres some images, I am really hoping when I restart it, it doesnt show that whole window still, it does however allow account linking with Facebook and Myspace etc also it displays ads within your chat windows which are closable.

Might DL it, but I really can't be bothered with the hassle if it decideds to cock up. I'll wait until it's patched and bug free in about 6 months

Hahaha, I have downgraded, just uninstall and you will have to find the offline installation for wlm. I'll look and see if I still have the install

Easier than I expected, I never knew there was an offline installer for it, seems like were in luck then. Kerry really wants to downgrade too. If you are unable to change your display name, does that mean if youre on the older version speaking to someone on the newer version they will see a default name for you? Post a link if you have one to the offline installer, I think quite a few people will find it useful
