Why would stimulating your brain do irreversible damage?
Games are very well designed forms of art (atleast some are) which require your brain to do a fair amount of thinking.

For example. In First Person Shooters, you are constantly using your eyes and ears to eliminate your opponents.

You need to think:
  • Where would my opponents be camping/spawning?
  • What gun to use in what situation?
  • Should I pull out my pistol before going around the corner?
  • Should I knife or try and shoot them?
  • I hear footsteps, should I stay or go after them?
  • I heared a grenade drop near me, should I try and throw it back or run?
  • Should I rush at the start of the match? etc etc
Well this is what goes through my head, I don't know about you other guys.
After playing games this becomes an autonomous skill like driving, walking, talking, but you can always improve.

In multiple hospitals in Australia, gaming consoles are put in for the patients enjoyment. Not only because it is fun but
is also a way to forget about pain hence faster recovery. That's why sleeping helps you recover faster.

Lol, this aussie knows what he's talking about.

Everything that is good = bad for your body, so it would make sense

But not for our brains, just eyes.
