Default Upgrading for new COD

So today I was thinking about the new COD coming out next month....and I also thought about how the PC has not been upgraded for some 2-3 years...in the end I scanned my PC with Can You Run It using the new Medal of Honer as the game. My PC did pass though it needs two upgrades to run at high speeds, CPU and graphics. I do know about graphics cards and how to upgrade them though I don't know a thing about CPU and how to upgrade.

Any help is appreciated

This is quite a tricky one and probably will be rather costly for you depending on what socket your mainboard is. Your processor is fairly old and in order to upgrade that, you may possibly require a new board, do you know what mainboard you have? If you dont install and run this and post the results for the mainboard:

I would have suggested to upgrade your ram, but the max supported is 2Gig.
Graphics card you should have no problem with upgrading as you should
have a PCI-E expansion slot free. The other good news is you can upgrade
your CPU as well up to a QUAD CORE!!! D: because you have a 775 socket.

But this also means you may have to upgrade your PSU as well, depending on
what graphics card you buy.

If you have the money I suggest buying a new computer as you won't have
to worry about this in the near future

If not, get a:
  • New graphics card (PCI-E) - Remember to check the minum PSU requirement
  • CPU - You want to get a S775 at least a dual core.
  • And PSU depending on what graphics card you get

Well old CPU's run on a max of 5volts and newer ones even less around 2.5. Your graphics card would be the main power eater

As a suggestion for a dual core, I would recommend the e8400, its quite a powerful dual core and would be fine for gaming, you only really need a quad core when you are doing videos for example shrink them, editing them etc and that would the main time a quad would be utilised. You can pick one up second hand for around £90 including heatsink and fan.

Don't forget you need quad core for playing crysis on extreme settings

I never actually knew that, my friend a computer technician has always told me that the only time 4 cores are really useful is when youre doing video and music and that games only ever require two cored processors.
