I was wondering what the online experience is like compared to when playing online with the 360 as I wouldnt mind getting one especially with the online gaming being free. So, what is the playstation 3 online experience like, is it better than Xbox Live other than it being free of course, what games are the best online on the PS3?

I haven't spent a lot of time online on the PS3, dumb, I know, but I usually spend time either at the Playstation Store, or The Playstation Home, which is just an awesome experience.
GTA IV and MAG supposedly boast a unique online experience, not to mention the coming Gran Turismo 5.
And with the Move in stores now, I think you'd find the online experience to be much more exhilarating.
You should check out Gamespot or IGN as well.

the online experience it pretty much the same its just xbox 360 is more accessable, some good games for online is Littlebigplanet, Fat princess, killzone 2, resistance 2, MAG, Modnation racers, Uncharted 2. these are all very good games and all have online but generally xbox 360 is better to play with friends, but id say xbox 360 isnt worth the money in my opinoin.

I'm an xbox 360 guy, but there was a moment were I started going on my brothers ps3. Except it being free, it's just the same in my opinion. Except there are shitter games, and it's packed with 9 y/o kids camping.

The online experience for me has been absolutely great, nice people online, it's FREE ^^ & there are some GREAT online MP games like MAG which are really good... MAG has a 256 player online mode, you know... the headset is really cool, but i'm looking forward to the new one ^^

all the ps3 exclusives that you mentioned are getting some sort of upgrade...

There's LittleBigPlanet 2, Fat Princess just got new Pirates, ninjas & giants expansion, Killzone 3, Resistance 3, MAG Escalation DLC, Lots of new MNR DLC, Uncharted 3:

I have ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE of Xbox/360 btw... I've nvr even touched an Xbox lol, although I tried Kinect on the 3rd of October @ the Euro Gamer Expo in London which was WAAAAAAAAY b4 release date & it was OK, not that great for me, considering I tried Table Tennis & I really like it in real life, I MUCH prefer Playstation Move Table Tennis... As you just push your hand forward into thin air & imagine you are hitting a ball with your imaginary bat in Kinect... it's not that great , & the guys posting saying that *Hardcore Gamers* should play Kinect & Imagine you are holding a gun - it JUST DOESN'T WORK! Sorry if my *Fanboy Rant* is a bit off topic, but I just wanted to say my views on The latest consoles
