Icon10 Printer Owners and Enthusiasts

What printer do you own and how is it for printing both text and photos? Is the speed of it any good? Does it print onto CD/DVD or have any other special features? Is it an all in one so it includes a scanner? What make and model is it if you know it?

For anyone who knows a good amount about printers, what Epson printer would you recommend? I am considering the R300 as it has most of the features I would like minus the scanner and also the inks are meant to be pretty cheap over on 3000rpm.com. The only issue is that the reviews I have read, most of them have said something bad and its rating isnt too high.

Thank you

Epson WorkForce 315:

1 (lowest rating) to 5 (highest) scales
Quickness: 3
Printing Quality: 4
Ink Cartridge Size: 3 small, runs out quickly
Jam Rating: 3.5 does jam up about 3 out 5 times
Ink Cartridge Price: 2 about $20 per black in cartridge, $36 for colored kit

Just from my one experience with Epson I would not recommend, at least not in the WorkForce series. I'd say to go with a company to were you can get ink refiles (Kodak, and Cannon have some if I remember correctly).

Well, I have two: a laser epson and a HP C5280. The first one is just a lame B/W laser, and I use it only for printing documents. The HP does more stuff: print on CDs, reads memory cards, has a scanner and a lcd screen, but the ink is quite expensive and runs out too quick.

I recently bought the all-in-one Epson Stylus SX215 for around £50, discounted from £100. I also bought a set of 12 colour ink cartridges for £12, which is (Imo!) good value.
I won't pretend that I know a lot about printers, d: but it does what I need it to. It prints relatively fast, and when printing photographs or high resolution documents it prints accurately and produces great monitor-true colours.
To be honest I only really needed it to print out text-heavy documents for university so I haven't mucked around with the scanner yet. I assume it's good though! It came with a CD including a lot of programmes for easy photo and print editing, accepts USB sticks/cards, and has a little interactive screen which is handy.

My old printer was ancient and the cartridges cost a whopping £30, so this is a real upgrade for me. I haven't had any problems with it and the installation was easy.
I bought it from Amazon and the reviews were good! I paid for standard delivery and it turned up the next day which was brilliant. One thing I will say is that it doesn't come with a printer-to-computer USB, so make sure you've got one to hand or invest.

I've got a Canon MP460, does the job considering I don't really print many images so all I need to worry about is clear sharp black text for coursework and such! I find myself using the scanner on it much more though, to scan any drawings or sketches.

Thanks everyone, I have decided to go for the R300 due to its high quality photo output and how cheap the inks are, I am considering getting a CISS (Continuous Ink Supply System), has anyone got one and are they any good?

I cannot wait to get it and just print things off, I will probably waste the first set of inks
