So I recently upgraded to windows 7 and the wireless adapter on my computer is incompatible, i'm having to use a wired ethernet connection, and as I am 2 rooms away from the router, it's a pain in the arse.
Does anyone know of any wireless adapters that are compatible?

Ethernet is better in every way compared to wireless.

Virtually any adapter that you see for sale should work. It would have to be incredibly old to not work with Windows 7.

I think that i know what's the problem
do you run the setup from the disc when it says no compatible???

This isn't necessarily the case, as Windows 7 will automatically detect for drivers and when that fails.. You know something's up. However, continuing your message. Look for the official website and see if they have any drivers compatible with Windows 7. If not, get something here:

Just make sure you check what WiFi band your router can do (ie N, G, B, A).. No point buying an N adapter (N is latest) and your router only capable of doing G.

I've got a new adapter and it's working fine
the old one was something like 8 years old so that's probably why it didn't work.

Just for future reference... Most of the time (admittedly this method isn't perfect) Figure out what model the card is, I.E. Belkin F5D007 or something like that. Do a google search to figure out what type of chipset it has, I.E. Probably Broadcom, Intel, Some others. Now search for drivers by "Windows 7 Broadcom 4355 driver" or something like that. Works 95% of the time even if the manufacture doesnt have a listed driver for Windows 7.

i know
but when i had windows xp i was using the disc to install the driver
but when i upgraded to win7 the disc was incompatible so i had
to install the driver from the "Device Manager"

Yeah, reason being is the installer on the disc is now out-dated and originally designed for XP. Installing via Device Manager uses the internet and Windows 7 driver library (or something that'll forward the process to a download source for the device).
