Let's take your example of 51.2 seconds.
Now, the average load time of empirical tests I ran with Daemon Tools show a 1-3 second load time with a 4.7 GB ISO. Worst case scenario included: 51.2 - 3 = 48.2
You save a whopping 48.2 seconds!
Now, if we're talking hard drive space...
Daemon Tools doesn't use more space when mounting than it takes to create a symbolical link between the X: drive (where X is A-Z) and the ISO, and the size of DT installed is ~12 MB.
With extraction, you need (x * 2 + y) amount of space where x = the size of the ISO and y = creating hierarchical directory structures and storing the information on each file.
