Ok so, every now and then my internet disconnects. The weird thing is that it can see my connection, but when I try to connect it says it can't.
This is what it looks like when I try reconnect:
And then this is what shows:
Sometimes, nothing happens for 2 weeks. But then times like today, it happens every 2 minutes. Another thing I noticed was that it says "Wireless connection 2", could this be something to do with it?
When it occurs go to Network and sharing centre > Change Adaptor Settings / Manage network connections
Check to see if you have 2 network adaptors appearing in there, also below the adapter status it will have details of the adapter, if you could screen dump that on here.
Also as a possible fix it might be worth going to Network and sharing centre > Manage wirless networks, remove any networks in there then try and connect to the network again, it may be that you have a conflicting profile set up.
Baby is this love for real?
Let me in your arms to feel,
the beating of your heart baby...
What kind of router do you have?
Is anyone else using the internet while you are?
Don't expect much, but I'll help as much as I can.
It's wireless. Downstairs, opposite side of the room. Far, I know, but it's all I can have. And it can't be too far, because I have 4 bars; it just refuses to connect to it
My ipod is connected and my brother's laptop, neither of them are being used, though.
Any help is help. Thanks.

Ok so this is the status thing:
And inside the "Change Adapter Settings" I had these three:
The last one is the only one I thought I did have, or should have, I think.
Strange as it sounds, you may be getting a IP conflict, we can set the TCP/IP settings manually to make sure your adaptor IP doesnt conflict with anything else, if you could let us know what brand of router you have
BTW this is crystals boyfriend, in PC enthusiast and my Job is broadband tech support so i help crystal out with techy posts lol

Oh hey Crystal's boyfriend
I have a Sky router, I use it wirelessly and use a USB to make my PC wireless. =3
Sky use netgear routers i believe, it should say somewhere on it netgear as SKY are not a router manufacturer, they just supply them.
If its a netgear go to "Change adapter settings" > Right Cllick and properties
Highlight Internet protocol V4 > Click properties
Put a dot next to Use the following
- IP Address: 192.168.0.92 (if a netgear, belkin router would be 192.168.2.92, depends on router default gateway)
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1 (and again this is netgear but would change if a different router, Belkin 192.168.2.1)
DNS settings
Preffered: 8.8.8.8
Alternate: 8.8.4.4
Apply changes and see how long the connection holds up, if still failing the only factor left could be bad drivers for dongle which to check only requires reinstalling the software for the dongle or getting new drivers.
Also as strange as it might sound what ive found in the past is if your wireless Key is using CAPS it sometimes causes windows problems, its more known in XP, so it may be worth logging into your router and changing the wireless key to something in lower case but obviously you would have to let everyone else know they need to reconnect.

Hope this Essay helps mate Good Luck!
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for all the help so far, I changed the adapter thing like you said and nothings happened so far. It's only been 10 minutes but it was disconnecting every 2 minutes before, so I think this did it.
