Sorry for the title but I think it is needed, what are your thoughts on them? I for one ARE AGAINST THEM. Anyone else have something else to say and those of you who don't know...
Fighting online piracy is important. The most effective way to shut down pirate websites is through targeted legislation that cuts off their funding. There’s no need to make American social networks, blogs and search engines censor the Internet or undermine the existing laws that have enabled the Web to thrive, creating millions of U.S. jobs.
Too much is at stake – please vote NO on PIPA and SOPA.
If SOPA is approved, I quit, I'm going to raise rainbow-colored pengwins in Africa.
Suddenly my eyes are open
Everything comes into focus, oh!
We are all illuminated,
Lights are shining on our faces
We are, we are blinded ! We are, we are blinded !
Indeed. There is always something breaking the law, somewhere, somehow, because humans are the only living beings that break the laws they themselves set up.
Fascinating, heh?
*packs for Africa with the rainbow-colored pengwins nevertheless*

Sure, it's important to stop piracy and protect the IP adresses of people. But banning every website that has downloads on it, and even shutting down sites like YouTube? That's just silly.
The people who came up with this are all old farts, who don't even know how the internet works! Let the new generation take care of the internet!

In theory, the bills are very good. Really, they are. I mean, I actually read the text of it, watched the debates on it, etc. The issues is that they're too vague, give too much gvmt. power, and punishes innocent companies (like FB, Google, etc.) The issue is that it isn't stopping piracy... While it may be putting a brick wall there, its easily broken through. You go, entertainment lobby!
