Okay, so with downloading Ebooks lately Ive been learning a little bit about Digital Rights Management. And by little, I basically know it means it won't let you add covers to the ebook and then have the covers show up on your device. I even tried adding it in Calibre and it shows up fine on there, in Adobe Digital Editions. But then when I put it on my nook the covers don't show up.

So.. My question is, why the crap does DRM not allow covers somehow when the rest of the book is totally fine?!

Am I being insanely stupid or misunderstanding and doing something wrong? I mean Ive downloaded other books and added covers and it worked perfectly, so I think DRM is the only thing stopping these ones..no?

People putting DRM in dummy understanding for me would be amazing, also is there any way to get a cover to work on the books in my nook because it's PISSSINGGG me off that they don't have covers just a white book with the title, that annoys me so much.

The Ebooks and cover art have different right. Each piece stays out of the public domain for a certain amount of time. If it's a book that has passed into the public domain, chances are that the cover art has not passed into the public domain (usually because the art was created after the book and time has not expired on the artist holding the rights). So therefore, it would be legal to use the content of the Ebook freely while illegal to use the cover art. I'm not sure if that makes much sense. But that's basically why.

It makes sense but it's annoying, why the hell can't it just be the same?!

I completely agree. Ebooks without cover art makes things look much worse.

After a certain time, alot of Classics like "On the Origin of Species" "Frankenstein" and "Pride and Prejudice" become public domain. The cover art might not be more recent.
