Right, this is a pretty long and confusing situation, so please bear with me..
I'm wandering if anyone on here can help me with a problem i have through my msn.
Basically, because i dont always have texting credit, or access to my emails (when hotmail decides to play up) i speak through msn to friends that i dont meet as often. Anyway, around last october i think it was, during a conversation some files randomly came through onto the msn window. I thought it may have been caused by the extra features i installed onto my msn, but it wasnt, i wiped my whole computer fully not long after. Now the popups are actually becoming quite annoying now. Each time i sign into my msn, some random files just come through constantly, sometimes it will last all day, non stop. I tried changing my password, i tried reinstalling the messenger, i even tried a new account, but they're still coming through.:( Worst of all the nature of the pictures has gotten worse over the year. They started off as random advertisements and that typical stuff, then i was receiving personal pictures through, even some of my own and others from my college. Then i started getting porn pictures through, these in which seem to be coming through the most at the moment. but the files havent just been just adult porn, theyve just been disgraceful, infact i must have received thousands of these horrible images in just a day! Thats how many are coming through.
But what confuses me A LOT is not knowing where the pictures are coming from, or not knowing how and why im getting them through like this. Has anyone else had popups through the msn like this? If so, any help would be much appreciated. Theyre really annoying, i want to be able to have a conversation without any files coming through what so ever, but atm thats impossible:(
Hmm... that sounds quite strange, nothing similar to that has ever happened to me. I think you might have some type of virus or something, but I don't really know. Sorry, I can't help you much.
Everything had been wiped from my computer, then all put back on again by some sort of floppy disc.
This normally removes any viruses and clears the computer entirely, so im not sure why the files are still coming through. I can only think its because they're coming through the messenger.
u might have a bot on ur friends list. a bot is like a robot account that does one thing over and over again. if uever ever been in a chat room they sometimes appear repeatedly trying to sell stuff

it could be a hacker
i had a similar situation a while backwhere one of my friends started talking to me but they didnt type the same as they use to i ignored it
they sent me a picture that was them recently and stupidly i accepted turned out there was a hacker using msn as a gate way or something into your computer and totally fucked my laptop up i was super pissed
so you might need to cancel your msn and see if they come from a diffrent area like internet when your browsing
if it dosent than advise msn of the issue and see what they say
