As the rank water washes down my fetid hair
Turning yellow from the sweat
I think like always in the shower
I wish I had a poet

A poet who can articulate my thoughts to others
More than a morbid depression
Or a sullen anger
Who can show the others
Who I am, better than I can.

They can show them
My resiliance, even when my head is down
My wholesomeness, through the holes in my clothes
Who can show them my character
Through the sweat that matts my hair.

I wish I had a poet
To define me
To everyone else.
