Default Drawing

Here's a drawing I did in art class. (No, it was not the assignment. Yes, the teacher told me not to draw that.)

Thoughts?

simplistic expressionism of nude human body drawing meets naive abstractionism

I personally don't understand why nude art is so popular.

Sure, showing someone in their natural form is, well... more natural. But wearing clothes shows what a person's tastes are, what they like, what they don't. And an artist can always use clothing to describe a situation.

For example, if you had 2 naked people, one on their knees, and the other standing over them... There's only a few things you can interpret that to mean.

But if the one on their knees was dressed up in rags, and the one standing seemed quite rich (from the clothes they wear), there could be many interpretations of that same image

Nudity in arts usually stands for an exposed, social context. In our, rather prudish post-Victorian period, nudity is probably even more afflicted with lust and vice, as nudity is seen in a context more connected with something such as nativeness, innocent etc etc

Well, it is supposed to be Aphrodite, so... Not really innocent. I drew it to see if my teacher would ask why I drew a goddess nude. Of COURSE it was because I like girls! I thought leaving it on my desk would be a way to get the class to notice w/out having to actually say it, but nothing happened! They didn't even call my mom, and they ALWAYS call her when I mess up like this!
