I have never tried After Effects yet, I still aint sure exactly what it does or is for. I have Lightroom 2 and Elements 7 but still no AE.

After Effects is compositing and digital motion graphics software. You can use it to make motion graphics and visual effects. Er... basically it is for video editing.
