Default The world 400 years from now

What do you think the world will be like say 400 years from now, will it be plagued by machines? Will we be watched by cameras everywhere we go? What do you think it will be like? What technology will be out? Will cancer be cured? Share your ideas and thoughts on what you think it may be like

They Keep Getting Closer To Curing Cancer; I Think It Will Be Cured (100%) In Less Then 200 Years, I Think They Would Have Big Walls Everywhere, And Everything Is Technology, Writing On Books Is Typing And Shit. Everyone Would Be Good, Law-Breakers Are Killed!

With as much as technology is advancing, I would have to assume that many of the enjoyments of today may be a thing of the past, and instead replaced with technological wonders...

Actually that day could happen at any moment.. God never gave us a 'date' for when Jesus would return to take those had been saved...

I believe Technology will become so advanced that it will lead to the downfall of the human race.

Why? As technology advances we rely more on it to function. Before advanced technology people could actually read, write, spell, and *gasp* do math. Also they relied on their brains more than anything.

I personally believe in the Destruction Through The Advancement of Technology [hexkey.co.uk].
Ironically enough, the name comes from a TV Show called Fringe (originally stated as Zerstorung durch Fortschritte der Technologie).

I predict that the world will fall into a Communistic state where everyone works for the Govt. And that if you do not have a job that benefits the human race then you are deemed obsolete and you will killed (The Twilight Zone; Ep. The Obsolete Man).

And the catch is that in a Communistic state then there will be no more advancement of technology. Because by that point there won't be any need for any advancement - the human race will already be controlled by technology, so why advance it any further?

We may find a way to cure cancer, but if the Communistic state comes then we won't have a need for a cure. Instead we'd kill off all the old and the sick, those who serve no purpose anymore - deemed so by the Govt (Logan's Run).
Basically, who lives and who dies will be decided by the Govt.

However, that day will come (world-wide). It's inevitable. Because as technology advances people start to not think as much, meaning they can be controlled easier, brainwashed easier.
Actually, that's starting to happen already.

In about 400, by that time it might reach the point of world-wide rebellion.
It all depends on if people get comfortable living imprisoned is all.

This all reminds me of Pendragon, a series of books.
But anywhoo.
In the book, the people had become so advanced that they actually had this virtual reality game that everyone went into.
They could go to the bathroom, eat, and pretty much do the normal without ever turning off the game.
So the kid in the book had to turn the machine down and blah blah blah.

I pretty much believe that this could happen.
And if we were to be technical, we are already watched by camera's everywhere we go...

^ Believed only by those who are paranoid.

I have to say some of the descriptions of the world in 400 years don't look promising.. So I'll try a more cheerful theory!

In 400 years, technology will have advanced so far that life is like nothing before. People can actually spend time with their families, have time to catch up on their long put off hobbies, and work at their leisure.

People will savor the physical activities even more, because imagine with technology new activities will surely be created!

The only glitch in this utopia (which was poorly described).. technology can't fail.

My collection of wasp things.

^ Or those who pay attention.

Once upon a time people were not as fat and lazy as they are today.
Kids used to actually go outside and play, get fresh air.
Now all they do is stay inside and rot their brains.
