And i dont' mean to minimize the amount of the debt, nor the fact that the US will be in a very bad position should these two countries be on opposite sides.

But, if it must be, it will. For every action there is a consequence. When the US cannot support its own programs and spends as if we have unlimited resources. We will eventually have to pay the consequence for it.

Good point... although, history has proven that there typically do result in '2 sides'. Mostly, because of the alliances nations have with each other, pull them into sides.

The scarey thought would be the middle east turning against nations which rely so heavily upon them for their oil resources.

But then you could get the oil from somewhere else.
Say all those huge pockets of oil, that hardly needs any refining, in the US?

That for absurd reasons, no one wants to touch.

Ah yes, quite honestly I think the debate over it is silly. Is it not resources that would allow the US to lessen their dependence upon foriegn resources? Thus allowing the US to start closing a major hole in our security?

Of course it is!

But then you get the 'wildlife' fanatics or whatever. I was under the assumption, to refine the oil there, if done right, wouldn't affect to much of the wildlife. Just a small portion when in comparison the the vast amount of wildlife there.

Aside from that, look at Alaska.
Did you know the animals actually like the pipe lines?
It gets cold up there in the winter and not all animals like the cold.
So the pipe line keeps them warm during the winter.
Not that anyone would ever make this news wide-spread that is - negative propaganda for their side.

Yeah, because letting them use to the warm to survive is such a horrible thing.
It doesn't destroy anything.

Besides which, anything we put up would destroy the natural environment.

Unless of course we all lived in caves that is. Wind, Solar, Water, Oil, any of it will be disrupting the natural environment.

But at least animal life can thrive in the winter thanks to the warmth.

Oh, and besides that, it could give a lot of people work. In case you haven't noticed the unemployment rate that is.
Drilling for oil can open up jobs - many jobs and the unemployment rate will go down.

Also this message was brought to you by the generator which gives out electricity which was built by kicking animals off thier land - apparently.
Computers indirectly disrupt the environment. Ode to the irony.

Ok, it's not like I was going to live in the forest and feed myself with grass.
It just that this way to to say '' animals like it, it warm them up'' it just a way to disguise the real effect it as on them. It's a way to ''trivialize?'' the thing.
So people will be, like you, this is great!

Plus, electricity here, in my town, comes from the water and the wind. Still pollutant, but way less than other form of electricity.

Plus, those animals were already living there yeah? So they know how to survive in the cold, they were already alble to survive, so yeah, it is grat that they can be warmer,, but at what price.

And stop going to the extrem all the time, it's annoying. Not because I don't agree with you that I prefer to live in a cave.

Well, if you really really really wanted to save the environment you would, the ones who really care do you know. No, really, I mean it.

The real effect is that it helps more of them to survive.

Survive in the cold, yes, but many more will survive in the warmth.
Are you saying you don't want more animals to survive?
Price? The very very very off chance of less than one percent of a spill, in which case those people who now have jobs rush to clean up.
Oh, wait, I forgot that not many people know about that.

Water and Wind? Doesn't matter, something still had to be built and is disrupting the animal life there.
Do you know how many birds piss on those windmills?

Also, did you know wind and water power are nothing new?
It's been around for a very very very long time. Ever see and old movie set on a farm?
Those windmills gave electricity.
The thing is, it was never deemed cost effective and you may think "money doesn't matter so long as the environment is safe" but in reality it does matter because in the end they have to cut down more trees to make more money because wind and water power cost too much.

So, yeah, oil is safer and more cost effective plus nuclear energy is much safer (way less chance of something going wrong) more affordable, and much cleaner.

Also wind and water have faults. If the wind doesn't blow, you get nothing.
It the water doesn't flow, you get nothing.
Same with solar, if the sun doesn't shine, you get nothing.
Also those take on a lot of cost in repairs. They break down more than one might think.

So, yeah, all around, oil really is safer and cheaper. Plus gives way more jobs because it takes many people to operate and oil rig (seeing as how my uncle works on one - he's told me about it).
The only real down side to the people is hearing loss - my uncle and grandfather lost most of theirs working on oil rigs except now they make them much quieter.
Plus the pipes are much better built.
