Is anyone here Orthodox?

I'm thinking about converting but, I don't know what the religion is like. I would be Russian Orthodox but, I think it's the same as any other Orthodox.

Nope, I'm Baptist. I believe that's Protestant.

From what I know it's a religion mainly in Europe area. In the states a few Orthodox churches are here but, in like Russia or other places Orthodox is a big religiom. I don't know that much about it though because I've not been to an Orthodox church.

Actually, it depends on the Orthodox because some of it is like Catholic. They do have Orthodox's like Protestant though.

all orthodox Christianity is basically the same. between each rite (Russian, Greek, byzantine, etc) only as few traditions, such as ceremonies are different depending on the culture. also a few chants and prays are a few words different, because they're lost in language translation.

The synagogue I'm a member of practices orthodox traditions, although I'm not very devout, nor a believer in god.
