Hmmm.

Personally I don't agree with sex changes in general, buuuutttt...

Like Polar said, let him (her?) have the sex change. If they don't like it afterwards, tough luck I'm afraid.

At Alter:

He is still going through changes with his body.
He is still a child.
He could change his mind for all we know.
That is the point.

He is a child still.

Children are ignorant and stupid of the ways of the world.
For all we know he will grow up and be comfortable in his body.
Then again, he may not.
Then he could change his sex.
Point being, the NHS should have at least enough sense not to do this.
Honestly, if you are going to tax people so everyone can have health care, as they claim, then at the very least, do you not think it should go to something, say, life-saving?

I do not care is this boy wants to change his gender. But he should at least have the dignity of a non-selfish person and wait until he can pay for it by himself... you know, instead of taking away money for cancer treatments.

Aside from that, his body is still developing, hormones can mess up his body at this stage.

On the other hand... if he could pay for it without the NHS or his parents, that's another thing. Then it's his problem and his alone. Rather than his parents or the governments.

I recently asked some transgendered people I know, and they agree with me.
He's too young plus the government should not be paying for such a thing.

By the way, I say 'he' because no matter what, his biological gender is still male. I don't give a shit about mentality or spiritually or whatever.
Honestly it's just like when I talk to Otherkin, it doesn't matter if they say they are an elf, pixie, unicorn, griffin or whatever - they are still human.
It's the same with gender. He'll always have that pesky Y chromosome - technically, this will always make him male.

And I know they don't chop it off, I was joking for crying out loud.

I think I shall stay out of this debate now. Firstly, because I know I can't change your mind and secondly because while I'm not usually easily offended, this is an extremely personal issue and by calling her a he you effectively called me a she which is probably the most insulting and disrespectful thing you can possibly call me.

And for the record, she is not changer her gender, she is changing her sex. Her gender is already female.

And again, I go by biology. He'll always male due to the Y chromosome, I am sorry but it is true.
Now, if he does get the surgery done with his money and when he's older... then I will call him a she because then for the most part he will be a she.
Also, he will be a she based on his own hard work and money rather than someone elses.

Same with you, until you are male for the most part, you are a she. As you will always have two Xs.
And now that I know this, I will probably call you a she.
The truth is insulting though.

Gender and sex are the same thing. Again, just because you believe you are something doesn't mean you are.

Also, sidebar:
There was a time in my life where I would have agreed with you as I used to believe I shouldn't have been female.
But, I changed my mind. Kids change their minds a lot.
