Default Curfew Laws

In some places their are curfew laws for when youngsters are not allowed to be on the streets after such and such a time. In the UK I know a few places have curfew laws where after 9pm people aged 10-16 will be told to return home and those under 10 be taken or told to return home after 8pm.

Do you have a curfew law where you live and do you think theyre fair?

Thats the thing, I agree with them but at the same time I dont. The times I think are perfectly fair but what I think isnt fair is how the police are having to do this. Shouldnt parents be making sure their kids arent on the streets at such rediculous times and not the police? I think its the parents responsibility but I can see why the police do need to intervene and perhaps have a word with them about it.

We had one here after 9pm for like a week.... everyone just defied it so they got rid of it lol
Its wrong... it up to the parents to say if they should be out after a certain time or not.

No curfew laws where I am. I think that it's up to parents what time they are due home not the police. I believe that there may be some cases however where for certain people curfews are a good idea.

Perhaps fines for the parents if an under 16 year old is out after 11.30pm? I am sure that would work well and make parents stay on top of things like this much more.

I dont know.
The kids can cause a lot of trouble, gangs etc. so obviously if they werent allowed out till late it would stop a lot of trouble.
At the same time its totally ridiculous. 16 year olds only allowed out till 9pm? Yeah, i dont think so, i think its totally unfair on a lot of young people who arent gonna cause problems. I'm imagining if that had been me, only allowed out till 9pm, i think we all would have flipped out.
and then there's also things like popping out for 5 minutes to buy something, or post a letter or idk, should that be considered breaking the curfew?
So whilst maybe for some area's it is necessary, it generalises lots of teenagers together which can be completely unfair.

I think it's midnight where I live, but I couldn't be sure.
I believe the reason is because there were crimes going on late at night involving children and teenagers.

Yes, the parents should be keeping their kids in because of curfew.
However, let's face it, a lot of kids today just don't listen and it takes someone with handcuffs and a gun to get them to obey.
Honestly, the cops have better jobs to do.

I propose the idea of bars on windows and padlocks and only the parents are allowed to have the key.
