Default The Falklands

Everythings kicking off now....

As most of you might know Britain have stared drilling for oil in the Falklands and now the Argentines are making a second attempt to get the Falklands back. And if the UN dont handle the situation carefully it could all kick off again and it would force Britain into a war. But it gets worse.... now the Latin American and Carribean countries have formed a new bloc excluding America and Canada and have had talks about getting the Falklands back. Hugo Chávez Frías who is president of Venezuela has said he supports Argentinas claim and he isnt the sort of person to just morally support hes a military supporter.

Hugo Chávez Frías also wants the whole of South America to pull together and form a union much like the USA. Hes going to see this as a stepping stone to that.

FROM HERE ON IS WORST CASE SCENARIO!

Also America and Canada (mostly America) are going to be abit "upset" that they have been pushed out of the new bloc and excluded from talks. We all know America likes to think there the best of the best and will always save the world (no offence). So if it does kick off don't be supprised if they get involved in a way.

Now even if only Argentenia invade the Falklands then Britian will be forced to conscript as they cant even handle whats left of the taliban in Afghanistan let alone fight a conventional war in the Falklands at the same time.

So lets say this all blows up in a mad way and the whole (or most) of South America get involved and theres a invasion. Britian will have to go and defend because the people there hold British passports. America and maybe Canada will get involved due the their "special relationship" with Britain. Now we look at other countires. Theres alot of people who want a pop at America. Also due to Hugo Chávez Frías being socialist and his che like views we may see countires like Russia and China in support of the Latin American countries. Maybe even Spain.
World War 3 much?

Then again this is worst case scenario but this IS how a world war can start.
Look at world war 1? That was over nothing of any major significance. It all just blew up really.

So whats all your views on the Falklands?

It's funyn how no one gives a shit about a freezing desert next to them until they found out there's oil on it.

Example: Russia-Canada Arctic War.

Congratz, society way to fuck up on your brain cells. You had your chance but it's to late now!

Actually, WW1 wasn't of anything minor it was very major. Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated the austrians thought this was becuase of the Germans dislike for with him then raging war. Then you get the jizz of the idea.

wikipedia "A desert is a landscape or region that receives almost no precipitation"
it pisses it down there... fail

And no... the SERBIANS killed the archduke.. nothing to do with germany.
The assination... sure it was a big deal but in terms of affairs with other countries it was nothing. Why would britain care about that? Why would anyone care about that? something small turns into something world wide. so it was over nothing.

I think your worst case scenario is unlikely although as you say, WW1 started over not much so there's the potential. I'd like to think that the heads of state around the world have more sense than that though and will prevent a world war. If anything does come of the Falklands issue, I reckon it will be no bigger than Kosovo a decade ago really.

Argentenia always wanted the falklands back.

And i think its really up to the UN to handle the situation carefuly and not just dismiss Argentenia's claim to the islands.
