well, i am a creationist, so i don't think that the big bang occurred.
but what i want to ask is this: supposedly, the bb happened when an uber-dense, tiny ball of matter exploded, thus setting up thins for the forming of the universe. that's the basic idea, right?
so, i have always wondered where people think that little ball of matter came from. any explanations?
The beginning of the beginning is like that for everything.
God created everything? Who created God?
Two universes clashed together? Where did the universes come from?
We all evolved from a single cell organism? First off - how? Was there anything else around (assuming it was mutated)? And who or what created that?
Then who created that then that then that, etc?!
It's madness!
Anyway, all ideas of origin ask the same question.
So, really, in the end... I base it off faith, no matter what that may be.
Why? Because no one can prove their side either way.
So, it comes down to what you believe.
So, yeah.
...God created the ball of matter.

I suppose I kind of believe in the Big Bang. I wouldn't put my complete faith in is as we have no way of proving it, but I think it's probably the best scientific theory we have right now. Astrophysics and Cosmology are also topics I'm very interested in studying at university, if I can.
I really don't know what to believe. I don't believe in any religion, although the idea of a God and heavens does give me something to rejoyce about knowing I would die and go to heaven (hopefully!), but at the same time, religion lacks a lot of evidence. But then so does the Big bang Theory.
It is just as Marietta said, it's a circular argument, what was the beginning of the beginning? Nobody knows, it's all down to faith.
The big bang actually has a lot of evidence going for it. We obviously don't know everything about it, but one of the big indicators is that the universe is expanding in a measurable rate. It's the generally held theory of creation - Scientists didn't just wake up one morning and go, I think the universe exploded once. The science behind it is unbelievably complicated but it does exist.

omg, did i say that's what scientists did? i did not say the evidence does not exist, i asked what is is!

Scientists have telescopes that can show what happened a split second after the big bang, just not what happened during or before. Probably the biggest piece of evidence we have is that the universe is expanding and cooling. Also, cosmic microwave background radiation can be found all over the universe as a result of the explosion.
