I say Presidential, but more as a general term for the pets of world leaders.
I think they honestly make them seem more human, even if a lot of the times the pets are surrounded in controversy.
The most common pets are dogs of course, every President has had one or more.
There have been more dogs in the White House than their have been Presidents and their families combined - so I think that is interesting.
I think it's quite a lovely tradition honestly, be the President a Democrat or Republican - a pet is always a good companion to have, ya know?
There are some sad stories, some funny stories, some controversial stories, and some happy stories surrounding these pets and I think that only goes to show that - as hard as it is to believe - that politicians are people to (granted a lot of them a slimy and scum of the earth - but at least having and caring for a pet shows they not
totally inhuman).
It's not just dogs though, there have been cats, birds, cattle, sheep, goats, and once a hyena and a few lions (which were gifts I do believe).
So, what do you think? Good idea to have so many pets, bad idea, sweet idea, should their be a limit on how many pets they can have, pure breeds or mutts, shelter animals or breeder animals?
I'm of the opinion it's good to have as many as you can handle. I'm an animal lover to the core, so long as the animals are well taken care off and get love and affection then I'm okay.
However... there is one major downside. Taxpayers are pretty much paying for any accidents that may occur with the animals.
Yeah, so, that's not good.
Anyway, thoughts?
