Because of a new law that allows all children who had been born to sperm donors to be told of their biological parentage when they turn 18, Australia's spunk reserves have quickly dried up.
"All the donors stopped coming forward because they didn't want a knock on the door in 18 years time," explained infertility specialist Dr. Ron Chang.
Keep reading to find out about the solution and the next great American export.
To combat the shortage, one of the largest fertility clinics in the country has begun actively soliciting sperm, with slogans such as "You've got millions to spare, we only need one."
Nope, still laughing.
I mean really, are there that many women in Australia so desperate to get pregnant and yet not willing to go out and you know... actually find a guy?
I mean seriously!
I know it's supposed to only be one town and all... but why not get the sperm from somewhere in the same country?
I don't know, I just can't stop laughing.
Yup, still laughing.

Haha brilliant slogan. I think sperm donation actually has huge benefits. Especially when it comes to couples who can't concieve naturally..or other situations like that. Personally, it wouldn't be an option I'd ever consider in the future though.

Lesbian couples to begin with. Or just women who find themselves at 40 with no guy around and the clock ticking.
Ah, and one more thing. Doing it the old-fashioned way means that the guy you just found is going to stick around for at least some 18 years, like it or not. And have certain rights regarding your child. Not the kind of relationship you'd like to have with just some guy you found.
The only funny thing about this is that stupid law. I don't think I'll ever consider donating my stuff, just in case the law changes retrospectively.
Re: Australia Suffers Sperm Shortage, U.S. Comes to the Rescue
I just thought of something. Okay, if a guy gets a girl pregnant and leaves her or whatever he has to pay child care to his kid, right? If he doesn't, the law comes after him and arrests him. Shouldn't it work for this way around? I mean, it is his kid and he doesn't have to pay anything to support him/her.
But about the article....give me a moment while I try to stop laughing.
