I'm pro-choice, you can be damn sure that i did not pay for uni and a masters just for my contraception to fail and become a mum. That is not my chosen career. That bunch of cells will be gone as soon as. End of. No guilt. I am not aborting anything which in any way resembles a baby. BUT i do have a problem with abortions when the woman in question is say.. 20 weeks in, and this is only because the medical intervention required may cause problems for her later ability to have a baby.

There are lots of different circumstances where a women/girl may be having an abortion.

Firstly a rape victim. You have to be in that womens shoes when she has to look into that childs eyes and see her nightmare come back to her. An abortion - in my eyes - would then see right.

I DO NOT believe it should be used as a relaxed way of getting rid of the baby by irresponsible and careless people. On the other hand, should people just stand and watch while a baby is born into an unstable, abusive and voilent home?

I think abortion is murder. All of it. It's killing a human being in the process.
Even if it was a rape victim. It's still a soul. You never know, the child could've been a prodigy or the next president

Personally I am pro-choice. Even if it is someone's belief that abortion is wrong and under no circumstances should it be carried out, why do they have the right to force other people to live by their opinion? They have a right to hold their opinion, but not to make others have their lives drastically affected by it.

Basically, you can hold your own opinions about what you would do in such a situation where you found yourself pregnant, but you shouldn't take away the opportunities of other people just because they don't share the same belief.

Nobody can force you to have an abortion, but people shouldn't be able to force people not to have them either.

I am pro-choice to the fullest extent. Do I support murder? No, I support womens' rights and for women to have the CHOICE to have a baby or not.

I, personally, don't see how LEGAL abortion is murder. Legal abortion is aborting the FETUS at a maximum of twelve weeks into the pregnancy. I don't condone abortions that are done after the first trimester, unless the baby needs to be removed due to medical reasons.

Murder, by law terms, isn't just taking anyone's life. In that case, don't kill bugs, and don't eat at all because nearly all things, even germs, are living. More things than you'd recognize. In a way, for each egg you do not fertilize (ladies), and for each sperm you do not use to fertilize (gentlemen) you are murdering an unborn "baby" as well. So let's all fuck until our ovaries and our testicles and dried up - then we wouldn't be wasting precious life.

Murder is illegal because it infringes on another person’s rights. Since fetuses are not people and do not have rights it isn’t murder.

Fetuses are actually more similar to tumors than babies/human beings. Tumors and fetuses alike are human (if you don't believe me, check your facts) and not autonomous (able to survive without depending on another humans vital organs). Babies can feel, and if far enough along they can be born premature yet still survive somewhat on their own once they are outside of the mother's body - all they'd need is someone else's care.

A lot of people believe that abortion is seen three ways:
A.) One would want to abort a fetus because of medical conditions
B.) One would want to abort a fetus due to rape
C.) One would want to abort a fetus simply because the girl was a little slut.

This is FAR from the truth. Abortion is something pregnant women take VERY seriously. Not all women who get pregnant through willingness, have no medical issues, and want to abort are sluts who should have known better. Contraceptives like condoms and birth control pills/shots are only 97% effective if used CORRECTLY, and who knows how many people have gotten pills that aren't right for them, or cheap condoms that break.

Deciding to abort a baby is not always easy. So I wouldn't belittle the women who are going through a hard enough time. Don't call them sluts or murderers. More often than not, they are FAR from it.

Humanoid presents a good point. Nobody can force you to "kill your baby", but pro-lifers (or anti-choicers, as I refer to them) are forcing women to have children as if they DESERVE it.

In the name of womens' rights, I am pro-choice.

Weighty topic.

Morally, I think it all depends on where consciousness truly starts - which no human ever could or ever will know. Obviously there's a body and a heart and such but when does the consciousness begin? Once that begins, whenever that may be, I think it's wrong.

Legally, I don't think that it's reasonable or logical to outlaw abortion - back when it was illegal, women still got back alley and self-induced abortions that were much more dangerous and did result in some deaths.

Outlawing abortion is just treating a symptom of several greater diseases within society - think poverty, neglect, rape. If we reduce these things, then we reduce the number of abortions.

Or the next dictator or welfare baby.

I'm of the opinion we should just sterilize the water supply and have the cure be a doctor-recommended prescription.

Can't kill something that don't exist and is just a bunch of cells.
