I don't know if this was brought up in any other topic. I searched & couldn't find one in the "Debates" thread, so here it is.

I'd like to know your take on abortion. What do you think of it? Is it cruelty? Are you for it? Is it murder like a lot of people say? Would you ever get one if you found out you were pregnant?

Here's my take on it:

Human life always starts somewhere. If you're pregnant and go get an ultra sound, no matter how far along you are, you KNOW you're looking at a baby. Yes, it may be in your stomach, but it can FEEL. Doesn't matter how far along you are.

I believe abortion is wrong, point blank. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but abortion doesn't make your life easier. It makes you the mother of a dead baby.

So, what's your take on it?

I agree with you. That's all I'm saying.

Morally, I think it's wrong. Legally, I don't think a group of men should have the right to tell all women what they can and cannot do with their bodies just because they don't agree with it.

And sometimes I think I'm pro-abortion. I don't think I would be too upset if the human race was extinct.

To be honest with you, sometimes an abortion can be the right thing to do, if you're in a state where bringing a baby into your life would be bad, then get an abortion, if it has some horrible defect get an abortion.

Pro choice.

If you're in a state where bringing a baby into your life would be bad, you could also just give it up for adoption.

EDIT: Also, if it has a defect, that doesn't at all mean that you'd love it any less. It's still YOUR baby. Doesn't mean you should get an abortion because of it.

I am pro life to the fullest extent. It is murder. Babies have heart beats while in the womb, obviously that means it is living, and if we can't kill full size men and women without consequences, then why should we be able to kill babies? They are the future, we can't kill our future. Its just morally wrong. If the baby is not wanted by its mother there are many other outlets for the babies life. Adoption. Some of the best people I have ever met have come from adopted homes. Also, as Amber said, just becuase it has a defect doesnt mean anything. The baby can still be loved. My best friends have a little sister with down syndrom. There are 14 kids in their family, and they kept Benita, and let me tell you she is the cutest, most beautiful little girl I have ever met. A life is a life. It should be given the chance to live.

That being said, I've met many a great people who have been born with mental disorders, physical disorders, and defects of any variety.
I don't know about the school's y'all went to but i went to one where there was a special class for people with defects.

One day I met a girl who had no defects, but was shunned by everyone she knew... except, that is, the Specials Class. They were the only ones whoever liked her, so she broke the rules and sat with them during lunch. Later on, so did I. Some of them couldn't speak, but they could still hear and laugh and find ways to communicate and even though they couldn't do much I found they were some of the best friends I ever really had.

Same goes for the people who were in my Special Ed class. Many of them were classified as mentally retarded and were in Special Ed full time. Each time I would go there, they were always there but always really nice.

Aside from all of that, what's classified as a defect anyways? Some people consider the most minor of things a defect. Some consider being born weak a defect. If that were the case neither I nor my sister would be here right now, would we? I was born really weak, she was born really sick.
And aside from that still, just because someone say's the child will be born with a defect doesn't make it true. You could be killing a perfectly healthy baby.

All life, esp. human life, is a sacred thing and should never be thrown away. People like to think they are putting a child out of their misery, but really that's just arrogant BS.

Killing is STILL murder, even if you have a "purpose".

i think abortion is okay if:
- the girl was rapped and has no conditions to raise the kid
- someone's life, either the kid or the mom are in danger for some health problem or some...

otherwise i think it's wrong
